EyeROV, a cutting-edge marine robotics startup, has announced that it has raised approximately ₹10 crore ($1.2 million) in its Pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by Unicorn India Ventures, with the funds aimed at boosting EyeROV’s international expansion and advancing its marine robotics solutions.

Founded in 2016 by IIT alumni Johns T Mathai and Kannappa Palaniappan P, EyeROV specializes in marine robotics and AI. The company focuses on transforming industries like energy, maritime, defense, and infrastructure through its innovative unmanned technologies.

Anil Joshi, Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures, commented, “Marine robotics is a complex field, and developing a drone for underwater inspection requires highly precise technology. Unicorn India Ventures has a deep tech DNA, understanding both the hardware and software aspects of this technology.”

EyeROV has introduced India’s first commercial underwater drones and ROVs, and has also launched an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) providing solutions in India and the MENA region. The company’s unique capabilities include inspecting long tunnels and pipelines, and integrating specialized payloads.

Over the past two years, EyeROV has experienced steady revenue growth, expanded its product line, and ventured into new industry sectors and regions. It is now a leader in underwater ROV inspections in India’s hydro sector.

With growing interest from customers in India, the MENA region, and Europe, particularly in infrastructure, power, and oil & gas, EyeROV is focused on strengthening its market presence and enhancing its R&D capabilities to deliver innovative solutions.
